How Homeowners Can Support Crews

construction crew housing

Above is the room 15 builders were staying in last week.

These builders and many more are rebuilding a community in Eastern Kentucky that was destroyed by flooding.

Our team at Hard Hat Housing went to Hazard last week to help rebuild this community, along with people from all around the states. Some even came all the way from Washington DC, to help hundreds of families who have lost their homes.

It was a difficult week, but it gave us some perspective into what the people who build our communities go through.

To say it’s a tough environment is an understatement.

When we mention construction workers, most people think of muddy boots, and tough guys who break stuff, and other negative stereotypes.

But in reality, our team, along with 25 other people in construction, were waking up at 5a.m., getting to work at 6a.m., spending all day long on the job site, then coming back “home” to a tiny room, with no privacy and uncomfortable beds.

They did it so happily everyday, knowing that what they’re doing is going to put a roof over hundreds of people’s heads.

That’s when we’ve seen the bigger picture, and realised not only the importance of construction crews, but also of Hard Hat Housing, and you!

Hard Hat Housing wouldn’t exist without homeowners like you, who see the bigger picture as well as we do, and rent their houses through us to construction crews.

We want that tiny room to be the exception, not the rule. The kind of thing that only happens when a disaster occurs, like what happened in Eastern Kentucky.

So, that’s where you come in.

If you have a house or two that you want to rent out, consider the people who are helping rebuild Hazard, and the hundreds of workers just like them.

Partner with Hard Hat Housing to help build the bigger picture!
