About Hard Hat Housing

  • Who is Hard Hat Housing?

Hard Hat Housing connects traveling construction professionals with turn-key, fully furnished homes, while helping provide homeowners with reliable tenants and earning a steady income

  • What is a Housing Partner?

A homeowner or property owner who provides move-in-ready, furnished housing for traveling construction professionals.

Because we support projects across the United States, we are always looking to build long-term relationships with reliable Homeowners we can work with again and again. When one crew gets a new project, our goal is to have trusted Housing Partners that we can call first to check availability and offer housing opportunities.

Partner Fit

  • What types of properties work best?

Clean, safe, well-furnished homes/apartments/condos in active job markets—especially with solid parking and easy access to major routes.

  • What length of stays should I expect?

Mid-term stays are common (30+ days), and many projects run longer.

Onboarding & Standards

  • How do I submit my property to Hard Hat Housing?

We maintain a database of properties that we check first when searching for housing in a new area. To make sure your property is among the first we contact, please fill out our property submission form with details such as location, number of bedrooms, amenities, and links.

Once we confirm your property fits our needs, we’ll reach out whenever a project arises in your area and guide you through the next steps.

  • Do I need to furnish the home?

Yes. Homes must be fully furnished and turn-key so guests can arrive and settle in smoothly.

  • What standards do you require?

We ask that furnished homes be stocked and set up as if you were moving in yourself for 30+ days. This means providing essentials such as:

    • Beds for every Crew Member agreed upon
    • Clean bedding, towels, and linens
    • Kitchen essentials like pots, pans, dishes, and utensils
    • Functional appliances and basic household items (couches and tvs)

Pricing & Payments

  • How is rent determined?

We recommend a market-driven rate based on location, size, bed count, demand, and seasonality.

  • How and when do I get paid?

Payment method and timing are clearly outlined in your lease agreement to keep income predictable and transparent.

In most cases, homeowners are paid on a consistent monthly schedule, just like a traditional rental, so you always know when to expect payment. We set up ACH payments to help ensure timely payments and clear communication throughout the lease term.

  • Do you require security deposits?

Security deposit requirements can vary depending on the agreement and the specific project. We review and confirm all deposit terms with homeowners upfront so expectations are clear before the lease begins.

Operations & Support

  • Who handles maintenance and repairs?

Homeowners typically handle routine maintenance and repairs. Hard Hat Housing coordinates all communication and ensures urgent issues are addressed promptly through our 24/7 Client Success Team, so you’re never left managing problems alone.

  • What if there’s an issue during the stay?

f any issues arise during a stay, our team communicates promptly, documents the situation, and coordinates resolution with all parties involved. This way, you’re never left managing problems on your own.

  • How do you ensure my property is taken care of?

We coordinate regular cleaning throughout the stay — often monthly, usually through your local cleaners — so your home stays in great shape from start to finish.

We also set clear house rules so crew members respect your space. And because Hard Hat Housing signs the lease agreement directly, we take responsibility for the occupants and remain your single point of contact throughout the project.
